Developing your own information products is an incredible way to build a business.  I know, I can hear you saying "But what information do I have that would sell?"  You would be amazed!

As you build your online marketing business, regardless of what product or service you are selling, I highly recommend you develop your own web site.  I can not over emphasize the importance of establishing yourself and your business in a credible way, and this is the first important step in doing that.

Spend a little time picking out a domain name.  Your domain name needs to be catchy and memorable!  It should have some relevance to your business.  You want people to be able to remember it, even if they lose your card or the piece of paper they wrote it on!

Once you've come up with some names, you have a couple of options. If you want a "dot-com" extension,  check here to see if they are still available and to secure the name of choice right away!  

If your name of choice is not available with the ".com" suffix, consider using that name with another extension, such as ".ws" , or "web-site."

Research that at MY.WS.

Along with securing and registering your domain name, you will also need good, reliable, high quality, affordable web hosting for your site at either of these options.

Now, you are ready for Step 3!  

If you've come this far, chances are you already know how you will design your site...either building it yourself (which I did with zero initial knowledge about what I was doing!) or having someone design it.

The primary benefit to designing it yourself is that you have total control.  You want to change something at 2:00am?  No problem.  You want to test a new ad campaign? Build a quick page and you 

are set!

The downside?  If you aren't technical, it's tough and it takes precious time away from your business!

Okay....YOU'RE OUT THERE!!!  You've completed the other steps and the world can now visit you at your web site!

Now, the real fun and challenge begins.  Here's the #1 secret you must know and put into action to be successful with your online venture:  Marketing !

It doesn't matter what your product, how great your prices, service, etc., if you don't market it correctly, you will not be successful.

So, how do you market successfully?  

It is imperative that you invest in some good resources and online marketing manuals.  Read it, study it and put it into action.  A quality manual will provide everything you need to know to get people to your site, get listed in search engines and other avenues of marketing online such as banners, e-mail marketing, message boards, FFA's, e-zines, newsgroups and more.  Each resource we list provides ongoing updates and updated information, which is invaluable considering the constant change with the Internet!
